Two. A Stopover City trip is two separate tickets — that’s exactly why it’s often cheaper than the direct flight. You book both legs in one checkout (the flights are purchased from the airlines through Duffel), or open the Google Flights links and book each leg direct with the airline.

With separate tickets, the second airline owes you nothing — this is the trade-off, and we’d rather say it plainly. It’s also why StopoverCity only shows connections measured in days, not tight same-day dashes, so there’s room to recover. If it comes to it, we’ll point you to the cheapest rebooking.

Airlines price each route by its own supply and demand, and budget carriers fly cheap point-to-point routes that never appear in one-ticket searches. Splitting the journey unlocks prices the airlines never combine themselves.
